Turning Skills Into Stories with Canva Video Editing

At Digital Media Church, we are committed to equipping young people across Albania with the skills they need to thrive in a digital world. On Day 6 of our free digital media training, our focus was on one of the most in-demand tools today — video editing using Canva Pro.

Learning to Create, Edit, and Inspire

In this session, our trainees went beyond theory and dove deep into practical tools and techniques. They explored the power of video as a communication tool, and how visual storytelling can be used to influence, market, and inspire.

Here’s what they mastered:

  • Understanding different video formats and how to apply them effectively

  • Using animations and video effects to enhance viewer engagement

  • Navigating the element library in Canva to elevate the storytelling process

  • Learning how to schedule and post videos directly from Canva to various social media platforms

  • Building and customizing a full Brand Kit to ensure brand consistency across content

This wasn’t just about dragging and dropping — it was about learning how to think like a content creator, using tools that professionals around the world rely on.

A Challenge with Real Purpose

To solidify their learning, we invited our trainees to apply what they’ve learned in a practical, meaningful way. Their task: create a promotional video for Digital Media Church — a real project that will help us share our mission with a wider audience.

This challenge is more than an assignment; it’s a chance to demonstrate creativity, ownership, and the ability to contribute to something greater than themselves.

Why This Matters

In a time when many young people are leaving Albania in search of opportunity, Digital Media Church is building bridges — not borders. By teaching young people how to create professional content, we’re helping them find work opportunities online, stay close to their families, and build sustainable futures in their own communities.

Through free training in skills like social media management, graphic design, web development, and now video editing, we’re preparing the next generation to not only participate in the digital economy — but to lead it.
