A Local Church in Tirana Becomes a Digital Learning Hub

In the rapidly developing area of Unaza e Re, one of Tirana’s newest and fastest-growing neighborhoods, something beautiful is taking shape. This part of the city, home to working-class families who have moved from other parts of Albania seeking better lives, often lacks access to professional development and economic opportunities.

That’s exactly why Digital Media Church, a nonprofit foundation, has chosen to launch a free Social Media Management course right here — in the heart of a local church.

This is more than a class. It’s a bridge between spiritual care and economic empowerment, offering young people a way to build real-world skills that translate into freelance work, remote jobs, and future entrepreneurship — without leaving Albania.

Why This Training Matters in Unaza e Re

This area is full of resilience and potential, yet most youth don’t have access to digital tools. Many families don’t own a single computer, and courses in the city are too expensive — often €500/month or more.

So we’re doing it differently.

Our training is completely free, and every student has access to a laptop and internet. The 3-month course includes 72 hours of practical instruction, guided by an online teacher. And once the course ends, students receive 12 months of mentorship, helping them transition into real remote work or further training.

The classroom is open even on non-training days, allowing students to use the laptops for schoolwork, practice tasks, or personal projects — turning the church into a community tech center.
